His sudden passing on Monday has drawn heartfelt condolences and tributes from across the Muslim world, mourning the loss of one of the sacred mosque’s resonant and familiar voices.

In a poignant turn of events, Sheikh Ibrahim gave his final call to prayer during the dawn (Fajr) prayer on Monday, merely hours before his death. A recording of his last adhan was subsequently shared online by Inside the Haramain, prompting a wave of emotional reactions from worshipers and followers who reflected on the spiritual beauty and dedication evident throughout his years of service.

Born in the holy city of Madinah in 1976, Sheikh Ibrahim began calling the adhan from a very young age. His path to the Grand Mosque started at just 15 years old when he took up the role at a local neighborhood mosque, honing a clear and melodious cadence that eventually earned him national recognition. His lifelong devotion led to his official appointment as a muezzin at the Grand Mosque between 2017 and 2018.

Over the years, his voice became an integral part of the spiritual atmosphere in Makkah, reaching millions of local congregants, pilgrims, and global viewers following live broadcasts from the sanctuary. Colleagues and community members remembered him as a humble servant dedicated to his craft, whose distinctive call continually enriched the auditory landscape of Islam’s holiest site.

Funeral prayers for Sheikh Ibrahim were scheduled to be held after the Asr prayer on Monday at the Grand Mosque, allowing thousands of pilgrims and residents to pay their respects. Following the services, he was laid to rest at the historic Al Mualla Cemetery in Makkah.
