Third-grade students of Funadhoo School in Shaviyani Atoll took to the island's coastline to participate in a hands-on "Tide-Pool Exploration" activity, designed to observe and learn about local marine ecosystems firsthand. The experiential field session gave young learners the opportunity to study diverse coastal organisms and intertidal wildlife up close in their natural habitat.

The primary objective of the excursion was to take education outside the traditional classroom setting, offering students practical experiences that nurture a deep curiosity and appreciation for the natural environment from an early age.

The successful execution of the initiative was supported through collaborative efforts across the island community, with organisers expressing gratitude to the Funadhoo Island Council, Funadhoo School management, Funadhoo Police Station, and the Regional Airports Fire and Rescue team for ensuring student safety and providing essential logistical support.

Organisers highlighted that coordinated community partnerships of this nature allow schools to conduct outdoor coastal learning in a thoroughly safe and structured manner, bridging standard curriculum topics with tangible ecological encounters.

Through these hands-on field interactions, the school hopes to foster early environmental stewardship, inspiring a conscious future generation committed to preserving and protecting fragile marine ecosystems.
