The ultimate remedy for all life’s distresses, anxieties, and hardships lies in the constant remembrance of Allah (dhikr), today’s nationwide Friday sermon reminded worshippers across the Maldives.

Delivered under the theme "Remembering Allah Frequently," the sermon emphasised that dhikr serves as vital nourishment for the soul and revives hardened hearts. Engaging in the praise of Allah was highlighted as the most accessible pathway to attain divine nearness, inner tranquility, and genuine contentment amid the burdens and challenges of daily life.

The sermon pointed out that remembering Allah shields believers from demonic whispers and revives spiritual consciousness, stressing that dhikr should never be viewed as an act restricted solely to the confines of the mosque. Congregants were advised to maintain the habit of praise on their tongues wherever they may be—while walking, traveling, or carrying out their professional duties.

Furthermore, the sermon called upon the public to dedicate time to the morning and evening supplications and to be diligent in reciting the recommended remembrances following daily prayers.

Concluding the message, the khutbah reminded believers that true dhikr extends beyond verbal recitations, requiring a present and attentive heart accompanied by a conscious effort to avoid sin and lead a righteous life.
