Maldives Hajj Corporation has announced the launch of direct Umrah flights from Gan International Airport in Addu City to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, dedicated to the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. Scheduled to depart on February 20 for pilgrims performing Umrah during the last 15 days of Ramadan, this special flight arrangement aims to provide residents of Addu City and the southern atolls with seamless travel, completely eliminating the need to transit through Malé.

The service has been facilitated through the introduction of wide-body aircraft operations by the national airline, Maldivian. Maldives Hajj Corporation noted that this initiative represents a milestone decision to sustainably ease travel burdens for southern communities. Under this program, the package for the last 15 days of Ramadan is priced at MVR 48,965, while the comprehensive full-month Ramadan Umrah package is priced at MVR 54,965.

Registration has officially opened for individuals seeking to secure their slots for the pilgrimage, with bookings accepted via the corporation's online portal "Faheli" as well as its official website. Emphasizing high service standards, Maldives Hajj Corporation stated that its primary priority continues to be enhancing the overall quality of care and creating a comfortable, supportive environment for all pilgrims.

The package includes an extensive range of dedicated services, featuring medical clinic and pharmacy support staffed by Maldivian doctors and nurses, alongside complimentary vaccinations. Pilgrims will also receive high-speed train transit to Medina for a three-night stay, local Maldivian meals, laundry and pressing services, spiritual lectures and guidance from religious scholars, complimentary Umrah kits, buggy transfers, and location tracking devices.

Looking ahead, the corporation aims to establish sustainable, direct Umrah operations from Gan to Jeddah across key pilgrimage windows each year, specifically during July, December, and the month of Ramadan. This long-term initiative ensures that southern residents can continue to fulfill their spiritual obligations with greater convenience and direct regional connectivity.
